Whey! That was a LONG one!!!!
Well, I am in Mobile for the long weekend, and I did my long run this morning at 5:40. I ran 12.3 miles--I couldn't believe it! I had to clock it in the car afterwards, as I don't have a "route" here. I am so encouraged by my training. I always get anxious right before the long run because I tend to have a mental block a couple of days before. Then, I prove to myself that I can do anything I put my mind to! The first 2 miles are always the hardest--then, I enter "the Zone!" I start to really notice the fragrances and brilliant colors of the beautiful flowers, the beautiful architecture of homes, and before I realize it, my run is almost over! It is wonderful! I can't believe that I waited so long to experience this! I am ready (although still nervous) for the Goat Milk! I here the shirts are forest green and really cool! I will bump up my weekly runs to a full hour, since I have only being doing 45 minutes. I am a marathoner!!!!!

Saturday's LONG run
Well, I missed you guys Saturday, but I got in 10.3 miles, all by myself! I headed out about 5:45 a.m. and ran for 2 hours and 13 minutes. My head was so clear afterwards. It almost seemed as though the long runs are sometimes easier than the short ones! That really makes the Goat Milk seem doable! For the rest of the day Saturday, I was just elated that I actually ran over 10 miles! Unbelievable! And, with the walk breaks, I was still able to make both of my boys' baseball games and attend an event with my husband that evening! I must say that I did sleep quite well Saturday night though! I can hardly wait until Saturday to do it again! It's almost as though I can say, okay, you're good for a week with out a long one; but then, I realize the long one is just the short one with more intervals! I just take it one interval at a time! Thanks Marathoners!!!!!!

After way too long........
I read the blogs almost daily--so, why I don't enter mine is just ridiculous! Anyway, I have been training more consitently than I have been blogging! I ran with Dawn R. with weekend at the group run, and that was a lot of fun. She really motivated me to tough it out! Also, since then I have been incorporating a 2/1 interval, and I love it. It took Saturday and yesterday to get used to it, but I feel great afterwards! I was attempting to do a 4/1, and I want to build up to that, but my recovery is much better wiht the 2/1. Anyway, it is definitely getting really hot very early. I ran at 6 AM this morning, and by 6:40, I was dripping! It was still nice out, but I can't imagine what it would have been like at 7:40! I will XT tomorrow, by walking or machines. I have to motivate myself enough for the Goat Milk, as we are taking a family vaction May 27 - June 3rd!!!!! I'll make myself run on the beach!!!!!
