Spring Fever

I love the Spring; my allergies hate it! Thank god for meds! I have missed you guys. I was out of town last weekend, and will be out of town this weekend as well. My training is going well. It has taken a lot to adjust to the dark mornings, but I would sacrifice seeing a beautiful sunrise in a heartbeat for the longer days. There is a little bunny in myneighborhood that I see most mornings when I am wogging, and I think he is the cutest little thing. My two older boys play baseball, and their season starts next week. That always makes our lives a little crazy, but we wouldn't trade it for the world!!!!!! I love reading the blogs. All of you are so encouraging! It definitely helps when you have so many people with the same goal, working our plan together. Can't wait to see you guys next weekend.

Wogging Along

Saturday's wog was great! It is so inspiring to see to many of us training for Chicago. I have done well with my schedule this week, but Xtraining has to be the area that I focus on improving. I have to start to incorporate weight training, immediately. I don't know why I am not motivated to Xtrain. I just have to do it! This morning is so pretty, and the temperature is perfect! I was definitely not at my best; I felt sluggish. I know why--it was all of the junk that I ate yesterday. I listened to my body, and it threatened me NOT to eat like that again! I was craving something, and I have no idea what it was, but I did not eat like a marathoner! I ate like a couch potato!!! Today is a new day, and I am back to thinking and doing the things that marathoners do! I love this weather, and will love the time change even more! I love reading all of the blogs and the message board. In fact, I am going to pick up a copy of Runner's World today. Well, gotta run! See you Saturday marathoners!

I have to do better on the blog!!!!!!

I did not realize that it has been two weeks plus since I have blogged! I usually blog at night, and now I am falling asleep so easily that I have forgotten about blogging. I have been working out though. I have fully recovered from the flu, and I feel great! The hardest part for me has been Xtraining. I am so tempted to just walk on those days, but I know that we really do need a break from the pounding!!!!!! I'm excited about tomorrow's meeting and run. My energy level has really increased, and I really do feel great! I keep saying "I am a marathoner," and I do seem to make better food choices." This training is so helpful in our lives overall--if we can run a marathon, we can do ANYTHING!!!!!!!!!!! I hope everyone is doing well, and I'll see you guys tomorrow morning.

Saturday - Now

The meeting Saturday was incredible! I saw a few people that I knew, met several new people, and discovered the Monster Energy drink and BioFreeze! I like the Monster for the early mornings!!!!!!! I XT trained Sunday with Pilates, and last night, my 11-year old son went walking (so he thought) with me! Either he needs to run more, or his mom is in pretty good shape! I will contend it is the latter of the two! He is too funny--he kept telling me before we left that he would try to not walk too fast, so that I could keep up with him! The last half of the walk, we did the 3/1 interval. That really did him in. I told him this was going to be his Spring Training for baseball! He just had no idea how much the past few weeks alone has helped his Mama. I had some really sad news this morning. My aunt in Pensacola passed away this morning. She lived a long, great life, but it hurts never the less. Depending on when the funeral is, I may or may not be at Saturday's meeting, but I will get my wog in. Please pray for my mother (it was her sister) and my family for healing.

Well marathoners, blog and wog on!!!!!!!

Oh What a Beautiful Afternoon

I did my wog this afternoon, and the weather was simply gorgeous! I can't tell you how great it felt to get out there and just enjoy the sunshine and the cool breeze. It really energizes me to work towards meeting this incredible goal with so many incredible people! I have been really trying to focus on one day at a time, one mile at a time. I have to continue to tell myself that, or I will impatiently start to do crazy stuff that result in injuries!!!!! This process of "training" is also allowing me to enjoy exercising instead of dreading it. It's funny that your changed association with the same event can totally change your entire perspective. I really enjoy reading the other blogs, and I get so much motivation from them. What a great way to train for a marathon!

First LSD

Well, my LSD was a 1.5 mile walk. Either at the end of this week or the beginning of next week, I will start consistently wogging. I have been pretty good about doing my stretches, but I was a little sore the other day. This year, I am really focused on listening to my body and do a lot of injury-prevention. I have been feeling great, and the more I do, the more motivated I become. The weather is cool and beautiful, and it makes it really easy to get out there and enjoy the fresh air. Off Yesterday; On Today

Well, I did not get my workout in yesterday, so my off day ended up being a day early. I just got back from the gym, and I did my wog on the treadmill. I will miss the meeting tomorrow because I am coaching my son's basketball team, and we have team pics @10:00 and a game 11:00! I'll get my wog in before basketball. Enjoy!

Just another day

I have yet to XT today. I did get my walk/run in yesterday afternoon, and it felt great. The temp was just about perfect. I also went by Fleet Feet yesterday, and being the gadget freak that I am, I really want the Forerunner 305 (especially while the rebate offer is going on!) I have the Nike Triax Elite, and I really enjoy it. I just think that the GPS system is so cool because of it's accuracy, as well as the additional features like the calorie count, on-screen graphics, etc. Oh well, we'll see..............Well, I better run to go do a pilates DVD...does that count as XTing?

It's Freezing!!!!!!!!!

Oh my, it is SOOOOOO cold! I better enjoy this chilly weather, because in July, I will crave it! I just did my 35 minute walk/run. Mostly walking, but it's done and I feel great. I have finally learned to enjoy "wogging" to music. I know that sounds strange, but I just loved the natural sounds. It also taught me to really appreciate nature. I'm so clumsy though! I slipped on some ice this morning. I knew it was cold, but I didn't know it was literally freezing! Wow! Of course, it was really easy to warm up. Gotta run. Check-in tomorrow.

I'm back and Ready to TRAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!

WOO-HOO!!!!!!!!!!!!! Marathon Makeover--the sense of commitment that I feel already is amazing. I am back form 2005--I was training, and I fractured my ankle in July and could not run in Chicago. I had a pity party that was really just over a few months ago! I am so ready to get started. I am going to get my XT in tomorrow, and force myself to take it slow, and I'll make to Chicago injury-free! It was so good to see Robin, Mark and Matt this afternoon at Baptist. The excitment in that room was enough to make anyone understand that they can do this! I just can't wait. Look out Chicago-------here I come!
